The question we are most frequently asked is how our design process for a new pair of socks works. This is a logical question. Where other sock companies collaborate with designers or design agencies, we involve homeless artists in the design process. This is naturally special and results in beautiful socks with a story, but it certainly also presents a challenge.

My life consists of painting in the Living Museum in New York. I make flowers, animals, and scenes with strong women in them. The paintings are fantasy of course, but they do give me strength and hope to cope with things that are tough.

Mieke led an adventurous life, living on the Spanish coast, founding a small school in the mountains of Nepal, and bringing people together through art and stories. Over the years, her body made it more challenging to embark on adventures. Yet, she continues to push boundaries every day on the canvas and among people.
For over three years, Omar Torres has been working on numerous artworks at the Living Museum in New York. He is an essential member of the daily energy of the space & community, and involved in helping and supporting the museum in many ways.
