Artist – Artur

Artur was born in Kielce, Poland, and has lived in the Netherlands since 1992. His life hasn’t been easy, with financial struggles, periods of homelessness and addiction. But one thing has always remained: his creativity. He has been drawing since he could hold a marker. It’s his way of understanding the world, his outlet, and his greatest pride.

After a difficult period, he found stability at the Claraklooster, and in 2008 he moved to SMO Helmond. He still lives there and works at the Job Factory, where he combines woodworking with creative projects.

Style
Artur draws wherever he can: on paper, on windows, even in sinks. His art is explosive, colourful and full of imagination. He sees the world in shapes and lines that he immediately translates into his work. And because he remembers everything — from history to topography — his pieces are full of small details, references and stories.

Design
The December sock he designed bursts with primary colours, unexpected figures and hidden elements. It’s a sock in which you discover something new every time — just like Artur himself.
