The story of Lida

Lida (68) from Montfoort is a gentle, kind woman with a big heart for nature, animals, and the people around her. She is very talented, yet modest. Painting plays an important role in her life: it gives her calm, space, and a way to express herself. For the past year and a half, Lida has been painting at the DoeMeeHuis, a place where she clearly feels at ease. She enjoys working together with others, but is equally in her element when quietly and focused working on a project by herself.

Art as calm and attention

What makes Lida’s work special is her refined way of working and her eye for detail. Her paintings are carefully built up, allowing her subjects to almost come to life. Art gives her joy, calm, and confidence — and that shows in everything she creates.

From painting to sock

The design for this sock started with a color. From there, Lida began to think further: how can I create something that makes people happy? This is typical of Lida — always wanting to bring joy to others. She usually works with earthy tones that reflect her nature-inspired paintings. For this sock, she consciously chose a lighter, more playful direction.

Knowing that her art helps support others makes this project especially meaningful to her.
