Artist Bart Rombout

Bart Rombout lives in Dordrecht. He suffers from chronic depression. This illness causes dark phases to keep recurring. Bart has always been a hairdresser. After a difficult phase, he left for Gran Canaria.

For months he worked in a hair salon there, eventually never received pay and fell further into a knot. His sister brought him back to the Netherlands where his persistent symptoms landed him in the PAAZ ward. Here Bart received creative therapy; he began drawing and painting.

His talent stood out and he was discovered by the art world. Depressive periods are still there. From his studio he wants to show with his colorful work that there is always positivity, even if your world is so dark.
